Herb Review/Gardenuity Herb Collection-6 Fully Rooted Plants

(As an Amazon Associate I earn from qualifying purchases.)

Following is an herb review focusing on the quality and economic benefit of the Gardenuity Herb Collection. Herbs are wonderful to add to the garden. It is an easy and healthy way to enhance your best recipes. While I was searching for fully rooted herbs to purchase I came across this company. The roots are fully grown and packaged in 4 inch nursery pots. The selection of herbs that are shipped is dependent on your location and determined by the seasonal climate when the herbs are harvested on the farm. The farm is located in Texas, USA.

The order comes complete with 6 fully rooted herbs of the company’s choice and the herbs are shipped at an appropriate time for your season. In addition to being shipped fully rooted, the plants also have a healthy growth of leaves.

A Picture Is Worth A Thousand Words

As I was researching this product I came across many pictures of real people who had purchased this Gardenuity HerbGardenuity Herb Collection Collection. Everyone was pleased with the product except for a couple of consumers. For the most part the plants were thriving, well packed and ready for planting.

However, I did see some photos of plants arriving almost dead. Some people say they were disappointed in the product, but this was more the exception than the rule.

Value For The Money: Herb Review

I like to evaluate the size and condition of plants when I browse garden supply stores. You can Rosemaryuse the herb immediately if the plant has good growth and is in good condition. They will also thrive better when planted in the elements. If you were to purchase a larger potted herb, it could cost up to $22.95 for each plant, depending on the size. (Mountain Valley Growers).

I feel Gardenuity has a quality product and is worth the price.

Amendment to the Soil

This particular product does not come with extra amendments for the soil. However, if you purchase kits directly from Gardenuity, you will also get soil enhancements like triple blend fertilizers, summer soil primer and micro nutrients. You will also have access to Seasonal Grow Pro Membership which includes:

  • Garden Weather Alerts
  • Guidance On-Call Support from a Grow Pro Expert
  • Seasonal Recipes
  • Watering Tips

This all comes at a price, though. Most kits begin at $72.00

A Random Rosemary Recipe

Rosemary Roasted Potatoes (modified from A Couple Cooks)Roasted Potatoes

  • Red potatoes/  4 to 5 cut into small chunks
  • Fresh rosemary/  2 to 3 sprigs
  • Lemon/  half a lemon sliced thinly
  • Olive oil/  1 to 2 tablespoons
  • Garlic powder/  sprinkled
  • Salt and pepper/  to taste

Shred the sprigs of rosemary by your hands to release them from their stems. Place potato chunks into a baking pan and mix them with all the above ingredients except the lemon. After coating the potatoes, place the thinly sliced lemon over the potatoes. Cook at 450 degrees turning once for 30 to 40 minutes. The potatoes will become more crisp the longer they touch the bottom of the pan. The recipe makes enough for 4 people.  Enjoy.

I have roasted potatoes before but have never added the rosemary. I can’t wait to try it!

Herb Review/ Gardenuity Herb Collection – A Gardener’s Delight

Gardening with fresh herbs from your garden has many health benefits. For instance, they are not bombarded with nasty pesticides. You control the pests, hopefully the natural way. In addition to being healthier for your body it is also good for your psyche. You receive much gratification knowing you grew the herbs and they were so easy to harvest!

In my opinion the price is a little high, however, the quality seems superb. It’s very frustrating buying herbs from a box store only to have them die and not produce properly in a couple of weeks. I like the fact that Gardenuity matches the herbs to your particular location and gives you a wide variety of herbs that can be used in many recipes.

All in all I rate this a 4 out of 5 only because the price is a little high and there were a couple of bad reviews. Like I said, though, the good majority of the reviews were fives. You can purchase this product on Amazon.

I’ll forward this on to my girlfriend as she loves gardening and is a fan of herbs. I recall growing up my mum always told me it’s better to grow your own as it is easy and you save a lot of money in the long run.

The rosemary roasted potatoes are lovely! So lovely I tend to not eat them so often to keep the taste new lol. Something my girlfriend enjoys cooking and eating and goes down really well.

Thank you for sharing this post and as I said I’ll forward this straight on to my partner.

    1. I’m glad you enjoyed the post. Thanks for sending it on. I did just re-edit it a few minutes ago, so make sure you send the latest edition. If she or you have any more questions, don’t hesitate to ask!

  2. Thank you for this awesome blog and especially for that yummy random rosemary potato recipe.  That thing looks great in my opinion.  With this recipe, do you think I could use red potatoes as well, or would it be best just to use regular potatoes?  Rosemary is one of my favorite herbs and goes good with EVERYTHING lol.

    1. Honestly, I prefer the flavor of red potatoes over Idaho potatoes. However, you may have to roast them for a little less time because they don’t seem as dense as Idahos. Rosemary is one of my favorites also. Actually my rosemary plant survived this harsh February of temperatures in the teens and twenties. I live in New Jersey. I was really impressed!

  3. Thank you very much for this random rosemary recipe you included here. I really like cooking with rosemary. And on occasions, I don’t wait till I have a fancy recipe. I sometimes sprinkle the herb over potatoes and roast them as I normally would, or scatter rosemary over a grilled steak or pork chop just before eating it. So yummy!

    1. I’m so glad you liked the recipe. It sounds delicious and can’t wait to try it myself! I also add rosemary to pork along with garlic, paprika, salt and pepper for a nice flavor. It sounds good on a steak too!
